people of the fungi.

5$ a gram. what a steal, never "laughed" so much at the simpsons. toronto turned into another shit show, i almost broke my head, elbow and knee because i kicked a bike and fell into the middle of college street. we pretty much got cut off at sneaky dee's because we were yelling so much.

marc: "lighten up, its a monday!"

montreal better be awesome. dave, get a bottle of CC and get a new phone.

vannnn city.

vancouver was fucking amazing. lots of old and new friends, a great house show which was so jam packed that it almost got to the point of being annoying and special chocolates for 10$ which made you feel a little bit weird.

i got to see the one and only paul hampton, which was awesome. i havent seen him in over three years. obviously, he has amassed more dumb tattoos, but that is paul hampton for you. dali showed up as well, which was cool. cody then came to the house and we planned our night out. after playing we went over to his house and drank some beers. he knew of a party happening down the block so we went to that. we then thought it would be a great idea to all walk into this party with masks on. i wore the dog mask along with a fedora so i looked like the dog in the daft punk video, marc was wearing a horse mask and a cowboy shirt, which was way too realistic looking, someone was wearing a luchadore mask, jamie was wearing a tiger mask with sunglasses on and so on. we went into the first apartment that we heard music coming out of and upon entering, we realized that there was only one dude there playing techno really really loud and not paying attention to anyone coming or going from his apartment. after searching for booze and not finding any, we decided to leave to find the other "party". we then found the other party, down the hall, and entered to be greeted with a lot of laughter and a lot of weird looks. thats when the chocolates started to kick in. i attempted to piss out a window onto the street, watched some freak put our luchadore mask on and dance like a madman while smoking a cigarette(he was also extremely short), and attempted to understand what was going on around me. one of cody's friends then got all of us to go back to there place to have a dance party, smoke machine and all. it was insane and in my state i was convinced that we were at a club, even though we were only about 9 people. i then played the most fucked up game of klondike ive ever played.

now we're in edmonton. home soon enough.

oslamaaaaaa.

the last night of the black ships tour in the states found us in seattle during the day pf the election. after playing a smelly yet awesome show in tacoma, we headed back to seattle to party with our friend smash. we drank some joose, which is a 9.9% malt liquor energy drink and set out towards the bar. we never made it though, as there was a huge mob in the street celebrating the victory of obama. crazy partying ensued, mainly because marc was wearing a leather vest and a sleeveless shirt and it was fucking cold outside. i put a beer box on my head that i found and was suddenly dubbed "budman" by a bunch of thug dudes, who in turn all gave me high fives.

its a night ill never forget.

grunge isnt dead.

phoenix was really cool. got to sleep in a real bed, ate a real breakfast at ikea(truly a great deal at 2.99$), and hung out with a high school art teacher who got so worked up when he saw a mccain/palin sign on someone's lawn that he felt the urge to run over and rip the sign out and throw it into someone's back yard.

tucson was a really nice city as well. its so weird to see a city all the sudden rise out of the desert. we thought it was really hot outside and asked one of alyssa's friends where there was a pool we could got to. her friend laughed at us and said that it was the "winter" to them and that they had drained all the public pools in the area. if they only knew what winter really was. the show was cool, i ate really good mexican food. me and stef went out to a little mexican restaurant to celebrate our two year anniversary. the first band that played were these younger teenagers that were playing their first ever show. their parents had rented them a van for their gear. they didnt even have cases for their guitars. we slept at alyssa's friend's house and she told us to look in our shoes before we put them on to see if there were scorpions in them. welcome to the desert.

driving through the amercian southwest is really beautiful. on the drive to san diego, we drove through the imperial sand dunes, which looks like the deserts in africa. huge dunes, genies in weird metal cups, flying carpets and a whole bunch of other crazy shit. besides that, it was a cool and very desolate place. some of the mountains are literally giant piles of huge rocks. we also saw the huge wall the usa is building on the border of mexico. another thing that dots the highway is these checkpoints, which basically racially profile you. the only "problem" we had was one of the guards asked us if we were american citizens and i said "no, we're canadians" to which he replied "well thats going to be a problem." i looked at him and he got this huge smile on his face and told us we could go.

we went to a beautiful beach in san diego. it was like something out of the oc. our show in riverside wasnt the greatest but we met some really cool people. i tried mickey's malt liquor and a 40oz of iron cobra malt liquor. both were quite tasty.

the next show we had was in marina california halloween night. the show was amazing, everyone partying in their costumes. unfortunately the dudes who lived at house had to stop the show because their RA (the show was on a campus) told them to stop the loud music. regardless, the show ruled.

the next night was in santa cruz, which again was amazing. we played a little cafe. people were really into it. we also played with a band from san diego that i had seen a couple of years earlier called lanterns. they were really awesome, sometimes its a really small world.

next stop was portland, which was amazing. people went nuts, some dude fucked up his chin and i took a really good shit.

now im in seattle and last night we went to the house where kurt cobain blew off his face. while walking around, some juggalette came up to us and gave us some flier from a smoke shop down the street. here is a quote; "jimmy's got everything, ceramic pipes, water pipes, crack pipes!!!! but you didnt hear me say that!!!"

tomorrow i will be saying fuck you america.
